If enough people start using Tilderinos (and I quite like that), the newcomers will be mostly using it as well. This is what will choose the demonym, not some random discussion.

As you say, it'll be chosen for you. But not like you can do something against it. You can use another one - it's your personal opinion, it's your decision whether to call me Tilderino, ~, Wave, Tilder, or just Soptik.

There is no need to start holy wars about demonym.

(Btw, I think this should be in ~tildes, would someone be so nice and move it (or tell me why I'm wrong about it)? Thanks)

As much as I dislike the name Tilderinos, I think I dislike the tone here even more.

Tilders sounds like Redditers. Tildes as a demonym is just confusing, like we're the Borg or something. Waves sounds like we're all Kanye fanpersons.

Frankly, I like Tilderinos and plan to continue using it (as will all my fellow Tildes users of taste and distinction). This website is cool, but people here have a tendency to be really stuck up their own ass. Which is fine, but being Tilderinos keeps us grounded. It's hard to take yourself too seriously as a Tilderino.

Didn't get too far before falling back to "Tildes users" though, did ya? :)

Tilderinos of taste and distinction is just too repetitive, we have standards here!

I don't get the reference to Tumblr, but Tilderinos does sound somehow off to me. I have also encountered Tildoes, which is, well, would certainly make us into a not-so-funny meme.
