What are you doing this weekend?

Even if you don't have any plans for the weekend and just want to talk about how you are doing, this is a good place to do that too.

A list of all previous topics in this series can be found here

So, what (or how) are you doing this weekend?

    Notes so far:

    • Seems like sleep is a bit deeper in the elevated position. At least it's easier to wake up, and there doesn't seem to be ill effects.
    • Less sleeping on my belly/side means less sleeping on my arms, so those feel better.
    • Just last night, I really, really wanted to roll over, but I couldn't due to the nature of sleeping prone. Not sure if this is good or bad process.
    • You can sleep without a mattress, just be prepared to rest your posterior on the hard floor interior.

Hm, the cron job I configured didn't execute this morning because, after I set everything up last night, I was trying to solve a problem I was having with another program and removed a dependency for cronie. Whoops.

Anyways, air conditioning is out at my place today, which is fucking awesome down here in Texas. Good thing I have plenty of fans. It should be fixed by this afternoon though.

I don't actually have any "real people plans" this weekend, yet. I'm thinking about asking a friend if they want to just do a super random D&D one shot tomorrow night though. Since I'd be the one asking, I'd probably end up the DM, but it beats sitting at home.

Anyways, Monday I started using Notion instead of Taskwarrior to keep track of my tasks, as well as replace all my notes I have on my computer. The experience has been... interesting. It's a very nice product that I actually quite enjoy using, but being constrained to a web interface and Notion not being open source is still going to make this adventure temporary. I also have a mild rule against using any sort of branded note taking software.

So yeah, I'm probably going to drop Notion after this weekend, but my time with the program has given me a lot of neat ideas, which I'll begin to try and incorporate into my master document for a personal information management program I've been "conceptualizing".

I also made some progress over the past week on setting up a personal server for various services tied to OpenStreetMap. Some of this stuff has been a little difficult and the documentation lacking, but I think I should be able to get it all working before I start classes in less than two weeks. Just a matter of how lazy I am between now and then.

Speaking of OpenStreetMap, I still have changesets for the map sitting on my hard drive that I haven't finished yet. I started working on one of them again a few days ago and I think I'll have it finished by this weekend.

I also really ought to actually work on the Wikipedia page that I recently wrote, but we'll see if I have time for it.

Finally, I've been thinking about setting up a personal wiki on a server. MediaWiki is the most obvious choice, but super overkill for what I'd use it for. Probably still overkill, but I think I'm going to check out MoinMoin first.

My fiancée is away for her friend’s bridal shower, so I’m taking the day to eat pizza, play video games, drink beer, and do laundry. Don’t have any real plans for tomorrow, but I may work on my upcoming D&D campaign. All around a pretty good weekend this week!
