They can, however, be unhealthy on a personal level, which is very different from wrong. "Pleasure helpers" can harm the sexual and emotional life of some individuals, while being entirely beneficial for others (including but not limited to persons with disabilities). Manufacturers have no obligation whatsoever to anticipate the psychological makeup of their clients. That is the responsibility of the clients themselves, and, when unable to do so, their closest friends and relatives, as well as health systems in general and the mental health community in particular.
