What is your favourite thing to do after Friday end of day to celebrate start of weekend?
If not Friday, then replace your start-of-weekend day for off-business week schedules, but what's your usual 'get home and do what?' tradition to start your weekend time?
I enjoy getting home, setting my stuff down, pouring just a bit of port wine into glass and enjoying it for an hour or so just to unwind/disconnect.
Saying hello to the cat and dog fits in there, intermittently, too.
My favorite thing to do is make some pizza (homemade is the best) and have a good cider while doing the same, or going out for a hike.
My usual thing to do is sit down and play a game or watch one of the several shows I've been watching. It's quite a bit cheaper.
Homemade pizza (especially with a good pizza stone for the cooking bits) is amazing.
Especially if you use a bit of chili/spicy infused olive oil as a finishing touch.
I really need to get a pizza stone sometime. And a fucking rolling pin lol.
My GF and I recently found Pillsbury pizza crust and it's honestly not that bad. Super fluffy and amazing.
I know the real thing is always better, but if you haven't tried it give it a go.
I usually do my own, but when I'm feeling lazy I'll actually grab some pre-made dough from the grocery store bakery. The stuff is freshly made and it's pretty good.
Hand tossed is the way!
Check amazon for the stones, you can get little packs of four 6"x6" (half inch thick) stones you can configure in the shape of your choice, so you can do flatbread style or full on round pizza if you put them side by side or square config respectively.
Hand tossed is great if you have the space to properly roll it out. Unfortunately I live in a tiny 595 sq. ft. apartment with another person and a dog. Counter space comes at a very, very high premium as a result and it's one of those shitty peninsula designs that would cause food to fall into the living room area even if the counter space existed. Pizza stones would unfortunately have no place to be stored as well.
I'll get to that point someday. That day is just not today.
Yikes, no kidding.
I suppose given the minimal room, buying a self-assemble kitchen island is out of the question?
Correct. There's no way in hell I could fit anything else in that kitchen, let alone an island :)
I take a good hour long nap.
Naps are so underrated.
I wish I could still take an hour long nap. I lay down with every intention but always wake up in under ten. But I do always feel very rested when I wake up.
For me my weekend starts thursday night. Ima be honest, I'd go home and rip a fat bowl of weed.
Indica, sativa or hybrid?
Whatever I have on me at the time. Although 90% of weeds are technically hybrids i feel
You and me both! Not much better than a nice bowl after a week of working my ass off. Pop on some netflix or fire up a game and just enjoy not having to think about work for a bit.
Sleeping. And waking up the day after not because of alarm.
Well, the UK did just release a study that says sleep-catchup is an important thing for your health.
NO EXCUSES, sleep more!
Harvard looks to have done a (womans) study that shows you can repay as well. (https://www.health.harvard.edu/womens-health/repaying-your-sleep-debt)
So yes you can repay a sleep debt but its not a good idea to build up one in the first place.
Sleep deprivation before learning something impedes acquisition of information, not sleeping enough after learning something impedes consolidation and storing of information to memory, and sleep deprivation impedes recalling things you've learned. (http://healthysleep.med.harvard.edu/healthy/matters/benefits-of-sleep/learning-memory)
Why We Sleep is a fantastic book on the whole topic of sleep deprivation and what happens because of it.
It's amazing how quickly our understanding of sleep has advanced in the last decade. I remember watching videos in the early 2000s to the effect that we didn't know why sleep is necessary besides being a means to rest. Now there are whole books on the subject.
Oh how I would like to say the same thing.

Not having to wake up to an alarm is one of the best feelings ever.
I'm an avid beer drinker so I typically crack open a cold one. (Something from my cellar if I'm feeling frisky)
With this being a long weekend I'll probably pull out something barrel aged. We shall see.
What's your brand of choice?
If you happen by any Unibroue brand (I see it sometimes when I head out to Cali) give it a shot, it's pretty unique.
I'm 100% about drinking local. I'm in Cincinnati so I love my Urban Artifact, Madtree and Listermann.
We get Unibroue around here. The brewmaster actually came to a local pint night a few years back.
As far as other brands I've been enjoying: Oddside Ales and Short's and you can't go wrong with Founders, Great Lakes or Deschutes!
I'm always exploring new beers.
Deschutes is the best!
Have yet to have a brew from them I don't like!
I don't drink often, but I do love local brews.
Up here we have a place called 'La Barbarie', all the brewing happens right in the back of the pub, all 12 flavors on tap.
It's hard to beat a good craft brew.
Step one go home and greet the cats. Start with Meowbox one and then say hello to footnibbler. Step 2 order some buttered chicken for me and my husband from our favorite Indian place.
It's so nice to come home to cats. I adopted two adult cats last year and they've finally decided that our house is their home.
Glad to hear your cat-integration went well. Good on you for adopting grown kitties.
Go to sleep because I have to work this weekend!
What is this sleep thing you speak of? After the week I have had it sounds like something I could use. ;)
I like to cook on Fridays. Tonight it's steak and mushrooms.
I like to sit down on the couch with a cup of coffee and watch some Stephen Colbert.
We (me and my roommate) start off with some Tiroler Freitag music, sit down on the couch and enjoy a beer. Usually this flows over into some Boris-style hardbass while cooking true slav meal. Once we have consumed our nutrients we hop over to the neighbours and have a good time there.
