Do you have an article of clothing or costume piece you enjoy wearing?

I've spoken to a couple of my friends who have mentioned that sometimes they wear a special outfit or dress up in order to feel better/get out of a lull. Even when I'm feeling pretty good on the emotional front, I've noticed that I have some favorite pieces I regularly cycle through.

Do you have a favorite outfit, piece of clothing/accessory, type of fabric/style, or costume piece you enjoy wearing? What is it? How does that piece make you feel when you put it on? Do you wear it in public? Does the piece have any sentimental value? Not a totally related question, but if you were a cartoon character who wore the same outfit every episode, what would your outfit be?

I feel fabulously radiant when I wear it. It makes me feel like a protagonist instead of a background character.

    I have a lucky shirt.

It’s an American eagle flannel from high school that looks a bit like the one this guy is wearing except burgundy. I wear it with the sleeves rolled up and cuffed at the mid-forearm or the elbow.

A weirdly high percentage of the ‘romantic events’ (first kisses, being randomly approached by someone, etc.) in my life have taken place with this shirt on, although my romantic history is not very long.

It’s strange. It’s not like I used to wear it all that often either, maybe once a month. Yet all my other shirts combined can hardly compete with its history (lol). Over the past five years I’ve pretty much stopped wearing it entirely in case I one day need the luck.

It feels great to wear, though. The fit on me is sharp and it’s quite a light and breathable fabric, which is important to me (I love feeling cool/cold).

If I were a cartoon character my uniform would definitely be a white T with a pair of dark blue Guess jeans (very boring, I know, but I need to save what limited brain power I have for other things). I essentially wear some variation of this everyday.

I have a big warm fuzzy hat with bunny ears and paws that I wear to raves. I enjoy the attention I get when I wear it.

My favorite piece of clothing is a tan golf-jacket-looking-but-not-quite coat I found at a Goodwill. (This is not exactly the same but it's pretty close.) It's Sears brand, but clearly old (my ballpark estimate is mid 80's). In the pocket, I found a football ticket for a game my school played in 1991. It's on the thinner side, so I like to wear it when it's cool but still nice outside, and it pairs well with the rest of the sorts of stuff I wear (think cuffed jeans, Docs, tucked in plain color tee shirts).

Related, a friend is having a wedding soon, and wants us to match a color palette if we can - this gives me a great excuse to have custom shoes and a suit made in colors I’ve been wanting forever.
