What is the one thing about your world that makes everything better?
Okay I haven't slept in almost 24 hours so I'm not exactly thinking straight but I was wondering:
What is that one thing in your life that makes everything better? It can be philosophical or it can be something others might consider "small", but I am geniunely curious on what makes you happy.
My son smiling or happily squealing at me. He’s 4 months old. That smile is like a renewable resource, and I can’t get enough of it.
That is a wonderful feeling. I'm so happy for you 😊
I just woke him up from his morning nap, and he was smiling back up at me and ready to hang out. Ahhhhh
Babies are the sweetest and nothing beats that smell on the back of their neck <3
I'm very fond of the dimples on the back of their itty bitty hands and feet!
Babies are amazing. :)
Baby hands are really cute.
And surprisingly strong grips, too.
My wife’s hair agrees with you.
Being able to lie down for a nap and know that everything is complete and nobody expects anything from me. It was quite rare this year being able to have that, but soon summer break starts and I can spend a whole summer with that feeling. I'm really looking forward to it, high school has been way too stressful (admittedly partially/mostly out of my own making)
That's the best. I love the lack of pressure and responsibility.
My hobbies are my biggest source of happiness I think.
I play Dungeons & Dragons a couple times a week. I'm the Game Master of one of those games, so quite a bit of time throughout the week goes to planning and prepping.
I'm also a vintage computer and video game console collector (Although my ambition goes beyond my budget with that one). I used to collect video games as well, but I've slowed down in the past year or so.
Quite recently I thought I'd try out book binding as well. I haven't started yet, but it looks fun and I have a couple projects in mind for it.
Wouldn't have ever guessed you like DnD based on your posts and name :D
What consoles do you have currently?
Is that where you do it properly with a needle and thread as well as glue bindings?
Like I said, I'm pretty limited by my current budget (and space) when it comes to hardware, so my little collection isn't too impressive at the moment.
In terms of actual consoles I don't have anything particularly old. For Pre-2000 stuff, I have a Sega Mega Drive, a PS1 and an N64.
My vintage computers are older and a little more interesting. I have a Toshiba MSX HX-10 (1984), Sinclair ZX Spectrum+2 (1986), and Amiga 500 (1987) at the moment. I also have a HP XE2 laptop from 1999.
Yeah, that's exactly right. The project I have in mind will be rebinding existing books, so no needle and thread at the moment. As a practice run I wanna turn my ratty paperback copy of Dracula into a hardback. If that goes well, my sights are set on rebinding (surprise, surprise) my D&D Player's Handbook which is falling apart.
The view from the top of a mountain hike! Something about the combo of the exercise endorphins and the scenic outlook just does it for me.
What is that one thing in your life that makes everything better?
That I have one. That I am alive. That just makes everything else for me so much better.
Being left alone to sort my stuff out. I'm just really happy when I can have a few hours when I know no one will interrupt me and I can just mooch and organise my own stuff.
Great timing because the thing that makes me happy just arrived
I've been watching for the longest time and it's never failed to make cheer me up. There's some absolute gold-tier jokes hidden within there too (if you can wade through all the charm/enthusiasm to find them)
Before I do or say anything that makes me feel like maybe I shouldn't be doing or saying it, or that I'll regret it, I ask myself: will this keep me up at night? Will I lay awake torturing myself about this? If the answer is yes, I don't do or say it. It takes a certain level of internally honesty, and that certainly doesn't come without some practice, but following this really makes my life pretty swell.
My 2,5 year old brother. I was the youngest of my my siblings until then :) Sadly I can't visit him too often as he lives with my father pretty far away. It never fails to make me happy though.
Honestly, me being a super chill person (according to friends, I don't even know how I keep it together) and not being in any sorts of drama makes life feel so free. Music makes everything better for me, not just getting to listen to my favorite artists, but being in my high school choir and having all my credits sorted out halfway through let's me do whatever I want, and I want to be with music for every amount of my day in these last year's of my high school journey.
But I'd like to ask the same question to you, what thing makes your life so much better in any way?
