A good chunk of the points are applicable outside tech talks. How often does an audience actually want to listen to the speaker's autobiography?

If there was one aspect that gives me pause, it would probably be using stories to relate concepts. It is really easy to deliver a bad story. I suspect the author might have forgotten that many speakers struggling to write or deliver a good talk will struggle to write or deliver an effective story. Perhaps something for another blog post?
