I think 2022 might be the year where ActivityPub is upgraded from an obscure protocol used by hobbyists, to one taken seriously.
It will also mark one of the first non-networking and non-cryptocurrency related decentralized protocols adopted by the mainstream, since… XMPP? RSS? Who knows.
