    I still love this thing as a concept, and it's irritating that you can't get it in the US.

    I knew that a Chinese company called Kandi motors was coming into the American market with a beefy-looking one, but it looks like they have given up on those and have split their offerings into a slightly more powerful but still extremely disappointing truck, a small collection of golf karts, and some gas-powered motorcycles and go-karts.

    TBH it probably won't be feasable for most people to drive these "neighborhood" EVs in the US because of our unusual laws. From what I understand these cars tend to be too slow to be street legal unless the road is marked with a max of 35mph. I've literally never lived anywhere where you could get to any business without needing access to a road that was marked 40mph or lower.

      It's not really ever going to be feasible for most people in the US. It's not so much a car as a electric moped with a box on top of it for protection from the elements and some extra wheels for stability (there's actually a lot of literal moped/scooters with boxes retrofitted on them in East/South East Asia) - it can be used where you'd use an electric moped, which is not suburbia.
