The internet’s richest fitness resource is a site from 1999. ExRx.net is little changed since the days of GeoCities yet beneath its bare-bones interface is a deep physiological compendium.

Gosh, this is gold! I got answers to a couple of questions that I had that were nagging me for a long time. Bookmarked!
Thanks for sharing :)
Obligatory link to ExRx.net
Everyone is tired of hearing that I try to avoid Youtube, but one thing I do use it for is for guidance on certain exercises. However, I think I prefer the animated images and textual descriptions on this site. I've known about ExRx for a long time but somehow never really dug into it. I'll be making good use of it now. Thanks cfabbro!
NP. And yeah, I often use YouTube videos for routine guidance, and studying/reminding myself of proper form for certain exercises too... but unfortunately most videos have a bunch of useless padding to make the video longer. So ExRx's exercise library, and its awesome example videos are probably going to be my go-to resource for that from now on instead. I wish I had known about the site sooner!
p.s. My back is doing much better now. Still feels a bit stiff at times, especially first thing in the morning (which could just be my age finally showing and nothing to do with the injury), but thankfully there is no longer any pain or soreness.
Thumbs up on the back! I did something to my knee last week that still hasn't quieted down. If it's not one thing, it's another...
Heh, know that feel. My knees are an absolute mess, and have been for a very long time. I used to mogul ski, and played catcher in baseball, both of which I think did a number on them. And I also had reconstructive surgery on them after I tore my LCL during taekwondo sparring, and having experienced years of recurring dislocations. They function fine now, and no longer randomly pop out of socket anymore, but they constantly ache... especially badly during the winter. :(
Been into fitness for a long time and I somehow never heard of this site, great find!
