(Dear framework, please do not sell out to the highest bidder eventually... do not absorb yourself into another PC company that pretends to protect your interests...) - So far so good but I worry about that
I think I will be selling my existing laptop sometime later this year and getting their AMD option, and possibly the 16". I wouldn't normally go for large-form-factor laptops but the extreme level of customization makes it a strong contender.
I know a couple of people who have been holding out for an AMD option, they'll be thrilled. The 16 inch model looks really interesting. I'm excited to see what kinds of things people build off of it.

Though unfortunately, despite being a pretty shady, unethical company NVIDIA still makes the most powerful desktop GPUs. I finally made the switch to AMD for my CPU with my latest desktop, but NVIDIA is hard to get away from if you care about raw performance. :(

Do you know why they were waiting. Is AMD better in some way?
I haven’t paid too much attention to the latest stuff, but AMD chips have been better in terms of energy efficiency and integrated graphics.

I'm amused that they waited until the day after I pulled the trigger on a 14" MacBook Pro to finally announce the Framework laptops I really wanted.
