Kagi has updated their pricing plans to provide more value for customers. The number of searches included in all plans has been increased by approximately 50%. Additionally, restrictions on AI features have been removed, giving all paid customers unlimited access to tools like Quick Answers and Universal Summarizer. These changes were made possible by recent cost savings achieved by Kagi. The updates are aimed at enhancing the customer experience by providing more searches and unrestricted AI tools. Kagi thanks customers for their continued support, which has helped make these upgrades possible.

If you've used Kagi previously, and were grandfathered into their early adopter plan, you get more searches. I think 1500 searches a month for $10 is quite reasonable! Glad to see them capitalize on the Neeva exodus. I'm thinking unlimited Universal Summarizer usage is pretty generous!
Yep, was a bit concerned with the 1k limit (I bought a year of Legacy before the change to stave that off for a bit) but 1.5k should be plenty for me most months after reviewing my monthly usage.

Try it out for a month. It's $10 billed monthly (actually, looks like a free 100 searches and $5 for 300 searches / month) and they don't do any dark pattern around billing, so you can subscribe...

I found the boost/block feature to be the main feature: for every website, you can block/lower/raise/pin it in the relative search rankings. Combined with already pretty good spam protection, this entirely eliminated spam results in search.
edit: oh, also, another thing is aside from finding it very useful, i like supporting a company that takes something historically entirely funded by ads and also necessary to internet discovery and takes out the treat-the-user-as-a-product part.

Just started trialing Kagi so nice to see this before I make my choice to start subscribing. The bump to 300 might be just enough that I wouldn't hit the cap... maybe. The issue is there are particular days during the month where I'm doing a lot of searches regarding bands and new music and those repetitive searches can add up- whereas the rest of my normal search frequency is much lower.
I could use a different engine specifically for those high frequency searches- but that defeats the point. Those searches could use the refinement options Kagi offers.
I'd also potentially like to use it at work- and maybe that makes a higher plan make sense anyway. I'm thinking a "Family" plan that has 1 work account, 1 personal account might work well. That said, I'm still not sure I want to spend that much on searches, so I'll stick with the trial and then probably a standard plan to start.

Hey there
You are receiving this email because you have a Kagi legacy annual subscription with unlimited searches.
This is to inform you that you will be able to keep this plan upon renewal. There is no action needed on your end, and your subscription will automatically renew as normal.
Explanation:
We have recently changed the pricing plans [1], adding more searches to our plans. Ultimately in the future, we want to go be able to offer unlimited searches on our Professional plan to the broader public again, when economics allow.
Previously your subscription was set to renew into Early-adopter Professional plan [2]. By allowing a subset of our users (like you) to keep unlimited searches, we can get insights if this will be indeed economically viable. So we have decided to prolong the renewal of the unlimited annual legacy plan for customers who already have them.
We hope you will be welcoming the news, as we continue to build the future of search, one step at a time.

Hmm. I'm still about 500 over on average, and 1.5¢ a search is pretty steep... but I'm really quite inclined to switch back and lean on bangs now.
Have some tips for someone interested in Kagi but is unsure of its value?

An aside: there should be an exact English word for "unlimited within human reason". Is there one?
"Virtually unlimited searches" is close. It implies a caveat, but one that most users would not ever hit.
Maybe "enough for nearly everyone."
I just realized it'd be nice if companies were to advertise "enoughness" more.
Seems like "plenty of" would work better there.
