      The agreements, which date to at least 2010, gave private access to some user data to Huawei, a telecommunications equipment company that has been flagged by American intelligence officials as a national security threat, as well as to Lenovo, Oppo and TCL.

    Jeez... is it worth digging up an old FB account that hasn't been updated in 8 years and delete it? Will that even do anything? I feel like some of my friends enjoy the facade that I am actually on social media but maybe that's less important these days.

      Depends. Are you an EU citizen, or do you live in the EU? In that case, deleting your account should delete all your data. If not, you can tell them you want them to and they have to. If you're...

      If you're outside of the EU, logging in to delete your account only ensures that Facebook can tie your current device/browser/IP to your identity. You could use the Tor browser to log into your account to prevent that: https://www.torproject.org/
