Damn that's disappointing. I've used HoloLens, and I'm totally ok with it's slightly-ghostly image, in part because the world tracking is so rock solid. Nothing moves unless it should. The biggest problems are obviously the processing power (Intel Atom rofl) and minuscule field of view. This was supposed to be better, not about-the-same as ~3 year old tech :(

Magic Leap has taken $2.3 billion in investments, and I honestly don't understand how anyone is expecting to get a return on that if this is their product.

I'm really surprised the headset isn't considerably better. I've followed Magic Leap on and off for the last 2 or so years and there was a lot of talk about them having more power and a larger field of view. I kind of suspect the Hololens made them give up on a wired connection, which resulted in lower power and thus the smaller field of view. Although that's just speculation on my part. One thing we do know however is that Microsoft's Hololens seems to be making progress. They skipped their planned version 2 so they can release a more significantly updated version in 2019.
