Firefox's recent gains in this area (and Chrome's increasing bloat) are the reasons I switched back.
Frankly I'm torn between Chrome's great developer experience and Firefox's ideology, but at the end of the day the latter is more important to me, and Quantum's performance just seals the deal. Mozilla has also been investing heavily into Firefox's dev tools, and they are nearly as good for my needs. As time goes by I'm trusting Google less and less and welcome such a strong alternative to their browser.

There’s a specific Firefox dev edition as well with extra tools, too. I’m not a web dev but it seems pretty solid.
