Every single day I see articles showing rampant abuse of american values and its citizens' rights. Every single day, encroaching on the freedoms of press, speech, assembly and religion.

And every single day, without fault, I see Americans justifying it. Not Trump supporters mind you (those are beyond repair), but rather people who see themselves as "reasonable".

A comment I replied to 1 hour ago:

It's still a long way away from countries like Turkey or Uzbekistan or Russia.

Is this what people tell themselves to sleep better at night? "At least we're not Uzbekistan"? Just how much friction is there to understand that this situation is going to keep getting worse until something changes? Do people just want to end up saying "Well, we're Uzbekistan now. I'd do something about it, but I can't, since... we're Uzbekistan."?

I just realized it's very reminiscent of the attitude on climate change from denialists. "Oh I don't see those catastrophic events and consequences you're talking about. It's not that bad. If it...

I think they used the excuse of some adjacent “rioting” as a legal reason to get the warrant. This is why I feel like antifa is a false flag at least some of the time. It just takes one moron or agent provocateur to taint a peaceful protest in the eyes of the law.

      edit: clarity

I recall a similar request that occurred sometime during this administration where the judge said no. If this is from a year ago, it wouldn't surprise me if this was that request.
