      I think that's a tad hyperbolic by virtue of the fact that there are no barriers to creating/releasing podcasts elsewhere on the internet. Podcasting existed before ReplyAll and will continue to...

      with podcasting they're trying to compete by taking something that was completely open and close it down

      I think that's a tad hyperbolic by virtue of the fact that there are no barriers to creating/releasing podcasts elsewhere on the internet. Podcasting existed before ReplyAll and will continue to exist even post Spotify-takeover. Granted, we may lose some of our favorites in their current incarnations, but the people behind the projects won't magically disappear on the off-chance that Spotify does indeed kill them.

      Besides, there's a chance Spotify might not hurt the podcasting world and they might even make it easier to find new and interesting podcasts. They made music discovery and curation extremely easy and user-friendly (for me at least), maybe they'll do the same with podcasts. I'm cautiously optimistic.

        I'm sorry but this reads like business bullshit. I honestly like your optimism but at the same time I hate it because I don't believe that outcome one bit. It's the same bullshit every company...

          I'm admittedly overly optimistic and don't want to immediately assume the worst -- that said though, you're probably right. If that's the case then I look forward to seeing what indie...
