    Oh come on since when are the welcome ads. If facebook served welcome ads they wouldn't have to split the word sponsored into a bunch of different divs to make it harder for adblockers to detect...

    I also have concerns about encouraging people to give friends' and relatives' personal information to a stranger on the internet who will use it to spam them with likely unwelcome ads

      They both might fit under the general umbrella of "unwelcome", but I think there's a pretty big difference in the degree between "I'm not interested in this ad" and "this ad was hyper-targeted at...

      They both might fit under the general umbrella of "unwelcome", but I think there's a pretty big difference in the degree between "I'm not interested in this ad" and "this ad was hyper-targeted at me by an apostate to try to get me to question my religion".
