The analysis he does of what it takes to block audio from saying bad words reminds me of auto-mod rules. There's some pretty cool lessons in it.
Also - humans are funny things. Get a group together with a single objective and we're good at solving puzzles, whether it's landing people on the moon or making a talking banana say curse words.

His filter could definitely come in handy though, especially considering how many major streamers use voice-to-text to read donations messages on Twitch. He should sell it as a service there to fund continued development.
