The_Donald is the Donald's official subreddit

The_Donald might be the biggest, but I'd imagine there are other Trump-supporting subreddits out there which are less unruly.

So what? It doesn't give him the right to flaunt the rules. He should be held to the same decency standards the rest of the world is, if not even higher ones.

It's the same reason twitter can't ban Trump, despite numerous and flagrant breaches of their ToS, he's the President of the United States.

I get that. I was responding to Twitter's reasoning. I find it extremely unconvincing.

banning a large political community that isn't in violation of our policies would be hugely problematic, not just for Reddit, but for our democracy generally. Political speech is the most protected form of speech in the United States, and we are sensitive to that and take cues from the government when we think about our policies.

Political speech is protected from being silenced by the government. Reddit is a private corporation. They're free to decide if they want to ban a bunch of terrible bigots from their platform....
