Note the binary thinking in the headline about who is right or wrong. Even thought of as a continuum, this is one-dimensional.
It seems more complicated. There are tradeoffs to be made about how much regulation and data gathering should be done, who should do it, and what safeguards against abuse there should be. Each company and country is going to be making tradeoffs.
We all know (now) that unrestricted forums attract garbage, but there should be better ways to handle it than China's approach.
