    I find it a little annoying that I can't just use the onboard USB or maybe even the WiFi connection on my Fujifilm X-T30 to capture video. It would be cool if video cards still had capture card...

    I find it a little annoying that I can't just use the onboard USB or maybe even the WiFi connection on my Fujifilm X-T30 to capture video. It would be cool if video cards still had capture card functionality too.

      Still had? If you're referring to external device input capture, even as far back as I can remember (going back to the 3Dfx Voodoo, Diamond Monster3D, and ATI RAGE days), that has always only ever...

If you're referring to external device input capture, even as far back as I can remember (going back to the 3Dfx Voodoo, Diamond Monster3D, and ATI RAGE days), that has always only ever been a niche feature on very specific video cards, and rarely ever included on mainstream consumer or gaming ones. You still can buy input capture cards though, both internal (PCI) and external (USB) based. E.g. IIRC my buddy currently uses the Elgato HD60 S (might be S+ or Pro) for streaming console stuff to Twitch.

      p.s. BTW, as mentioned briefly in the article, it looks like Elgato also has a product specifically for capturing and streaming from DSLRs, camcorders, etc. which will work with your X-T30:
