    I thought LTT hit peak ridiculous when they added water cooling to a smartphone. I'm glad they keep finding ways to outdo themselves.

      I really love their antics. Fun filler content between big product launches and the like, plus, Linus tends to find ways to work really good information into the random stuff they do.

    Apparently Zilog made Z80 CPU's (the CPU of the calculator here) up to 50Mhz according to Wikipedia. I'd like to see someone manage to swap in one of those bad boys, and then overclock it like...

    Apparently Zilog made Z80 CPU's (the CPU of the calculator here) up to 50Mhz according to Wikipedia. I'd like to see someone manage to swap in one of those bad boys, and then overclock it like Linus did. If you could squeeze another 10 Mhz out of it, you'd be playing Doom close to its native clock rate of 66Mhz. It'd be stupid and impractical, but worth a laugh for sure.

    I got my start as a programmer writing TI-BASIC programs for fun on my TI-83+ back in highschool. I started HS with a TI-83 and i had to BEG my parents to let me upgrade to a TI-83+ so I could run MirageOS (ie, games) and access some of the newer functionality. Then shortly after the TI-84 came out and I knew I had no chance of convincing them to get another upgrade.

    And to this day I'll see the graphing calculators in the office supply aisle at Walmart and there's just this urge to buy one, even though I've still got the 83+ and haven't touched it in years. Although I did take some time to grab my old BASIC programs off of ticalc and throw them in git for archival purposes.

      Very excitingly, the new TI Nspire CX CAS II software will be integrating Python later this year. The CAS also comes with software for the computer, which is great since the computer is much faster than the handheld calc. The CX CAS is truly a phenomenal calculator. For about $150, you can have full symbolic manipulation, 3D plotting, parametric plotting, indefinite integration and differentiation, spreadsheets, data capture, and geometric shapes. I hope that the Python integration inspires another group of programmers because those Nspire handhelds are marvelous.

        Begone, temptations!!! Seriously though, that's awesome. Python's already pretty accessible, so to make it even MORE accessible by putting it on a device like that is really exciting.
