You can always trust The Verge to always publish incredibly relevant and cutting edge articles. Haven't screenshots been a thing since the original iPod touches?

Why was this even posted here? A less than 200 word article on something extremely common? How do I report this, just tag @deimos?

If you don't like it, don't upvote it. I often post stuff because I think, "Some people might find this entertaining or useful." I am not always correct in that assessment. And that's fine,...

I often post stuff because I think, "Some people might find this entertaining or useful." I am not always correct in that assessment. And that's fine, because IMO that's what the voting functions are for. The things that DO matter get upvotes, so more people notice them. The ones that don't help/entertain languish, which is as it should be.

I do, too -- and on my Apple Watch as well. So it was useful in a different way -- figuring out where the heck those images came from.

Look at the results for "take screenshots iphone" on Google. Besides Apple themselves, there's TechRadar, Business Insider, CNET, Macworld, and even this Verge article. These outlets all know that people are going to use Google to search for how to do something, and will likely click an article like this. The same people searching for how to use basic features are also probably not the type to read the Verge, Techcrunch, CNET, or Macworld regularly so this is basically an all-new market segment for them to grab some quick ad revenue from.
