Is there anything I can do to disrupt these people from organizing online? I feel restless and I can't go to protests right now. I give money but it doesn't feel like it's enough.

I know some folks infiltrate alt-right groups to collect info, but it sounds very rough - you have to slog through so much bigotry to do so.

Yeah, I wonder about that. It feels like something you have to be really sound of mind to do.

Meanwhile on Reddit, there are dozens of subreddits that are praising Kyle Rittenhouse as a hero and savior and justifying his shooting.

It feels different from how they've treated previous right-wing shooters even though past shooters were in different circumstances. Most Republicans didn't defend James Fields, maybe because everyone understands that Unite the Right was a Nazi rally even if they don't want to say it. But they're bending over backwards now to defend a kid who illegally carried a gun across state lines and killed two people and I wonder if they're going to get bolder in who they defend (probably). I also wonder if Scott Walker would have extradited him back to Wisconsin like Evers surely will.

I read part of an MSN article this morning about the kid and they said that it's "unclear why he was there" a few paragraphs after explaining that his Facebook page was full of pro-cop shit. Why are so many articles so irresponsibly written? It makes me want to write even more novels than I already do.

I am growing increasingly worried about this. Especially after seeing so many Conservative acquaintances support this shooter. Some of them seem to have come full mask off.

Our only chance (and I think it's a small one) to avoid mass violence and bloodshed is an absolute resounding turnout against Trump in November and a thorough rejection of Trumpism.

Thank you for that. At the end of the day the law is only worth what people think of it, which is not much. I agree with you, if Biden wins in a landslide I think we're going to see more violence...

I agree with you, if Biden wins in a landslide I think we're going to see more violence like this. I wonder how many of these chucklefucks are going to show up at polling stations to "keep them safe".

Some additional details from Buzzfeed News

The event associated with the Kenosha Guard page, however, was flagged to Facebook at least 455 times after its creation, according to an internal report viewed by BuzzFeed News, and had been cleared by four moderators, all of whom deemed it “non-violating.” The page and event were eventually removed from the platform on Wednesday — several hours after the shooting.

“To put that number into perspective, it made up 66% of all event reports that day,” one Facebook worker wrote in the internal “Violence and Incitement Working Group” to illustrate the number of complaints the company had received about the event.

The internal report seen by BuzzFeed News reveals the extent to which concerned Facebook users went to warn the company of a group calling for public violence, and how the company failed to act. “The event is highly unusual in retrospect,” reads the report, which notes that the next highest event for the day had been flagged 18 times by users compared to the 455 times of the Kenosha Guard event.

The company did not catch the page despite user reports, Zuckerberg said, because the complaints had been sent to content moderation contractors who were not versed in “how certain militias” operate. “On second review, doing it more sensitively, the team that was responsible for dangerous organizations recognized that this violated the policies and we took it down.”

Sadly typical "oopsie, mistakes were made" response from Zuckerberg.
