    So, what I'm hearing is:

    Auto Industry: "Our cars are tracking your every move so that we can make a quick buck selling it to ad companies. We know the implications of collecting that data, here's a worst case scenario. We know that our software protecting that data is insecure, and the only thing stopping people from hacking it is we don't give them the documentation. So, obviously we need to write laws to keep that documentation secret. Oh and it's a real shame if it wipes out every independent mechanic and auto shop in the process, but think of what would happen otherwise: literally rape."
