EDIT: Jesus, Top Gear really hasn't aged well in some respects. Remember not to scroll down.

Yep. YouTube comments are almost always a bad idea unless you're on one of those small enthusiast channels.

There is a nice nod to the 2CV in the Ami’s flip-up windows, while other simple, money-saving ideas include identical doors (meaning one opens backwards and the other frontwards) and similarly interchangeable front and rear panels.

Right now my fiancée and I have two cars between us, which feels kind of wasteful especially given both of us now work from home. If I could ditch one of the cars for this, and keep the other for inter-city travel, that would be awesome! Of course, I'm also concerned for the safety of these smaller things in the cases of accidents, which I think would be the big sticking point for me.

I love subcompact and tiny cars, and I think this could be really useful for teaching young people how to drive, perhaps as a first vehicle or in a driving school. As a practical daily car though, for me personally, it falls into the uncomfortable valley in between a bike, which uses no power and can go anywhere, and a small compact car, which can actually be used on the highway, has plenty of space for groceries and enough for 4 passengers, and is far safer. I know car norms are different in France vs Hawaii, but I assume Parisians have a similar problem of lack of space like we do in Honolulu, and you'd be really committing yourself to a single city with a car like this taking up your one parking space vs a Nissan Leaf or an old Ford Focus (or a Geo Metro, haha!).

Supposedly two can fit in a parking space. I think this depends on being able to get some kind of unconventional parking space.
