I love this guy's videos and the fact that he is not an expert at this stuff already, he's just experimenting, having fun and learning as he goes. Shenzen also seems like a crazy interesting...

I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but this is supposed to be a good documentary about Shenzhen, I think: https://youtube.com/watch?v=SGJ5cZnoodY

Yeah, I have seen it. It touches on all sorts of other topics, not just Shenzen itself or the unique businesses there. E.g. Moore's law, the maker movement (homebrew electronics, 3D printing, etc), right-to-repair, the pros and cons of the IP free zone, etc. However it kinda just glazes over most of them, other than IP, and overall it's an incredibly slow paced and dry documentary. I struggled to get through it, TBH, and I think I wound up cranking it up to 1.5x speed through most of it.

I much prefer all the Strange Parts episodes since they're a more personal and intimate look at a Westerner living in Shenzen and trying to take full advantage of the incredible electronic part markets and prototyping business ecosystem there while he learns their tools and techniques doing little (and not so little) projects of his own. He is one of the few Youtubers I actually have the notification bell set up on since I have yet to be disappointed with any of his videos.
