Rooster Teeth employee Ryan Haywood stepping down and Adam Kovic possibly going the same way

Recently it has come to light that Ryan allegedly abused his position as an employee to exploit fans. Ryan is stepping down in the chaos: https://twitter.com/RyanTheTwit/status/1313598106081132547

Images and videos released of Adam Kovic were released showing him performing sexual acts in the Funhaus office, as well as some other things. Kovic will likely be fired or resign.

Recent videos featuring the two were either deleted or edited to remove their appearances/voices.

This is a sad day for Roosterteeth fans and the coworkers who admired them.

Wow. This sucks. It seems to me like a case of private misdeeds being used as ammunition against people who were already unpopular with the fanbase in an attempt to shift the makeup of the RT cast, which is really nefarious. I'm also really disappointed to learn that Ryan was doing things like this, though I'm not really sure this is the best way to ensure that those actions to have consequences, especially since it seems like a lot of the evidence of wrongdoing might have been fabricated. The thing with Adam and his wife is honestly unsurprising, he jokes about stuff like that all the time and it's really gross, but again - go to HR and his wife, don't post this shit on the Internet.

Man Roosterteeth seem to go from one disaster-controversy to the next. I've not followed them in a years now but every 6 month they pop up on OOTL with some controversy going on and it seems to be at all levels of the company and fandom.

I dont want to speculate too much but Adam's case seems weirder/deeper of the two from a public/company POV as people are using it to jump on him about other issues. Apparently he is jacking it around the office, next to other peoples desks? Rahul Kohil (from iZombie and frequent FH guest) got involved saying he left FH because of Adam and that it has nothing to do with the nudes. Lawrence who left the company earlier in the year posting "Who's Laughing Now?" lyrics*. James and Elyse have unfollowed Adam which seems petty to post but social media is an important piece of peoples lives these days.

*(Wherewere you when the walls came crashing down? /
When the castle fell (hey), you were not around /
Fast friends, slow to learn, you're the one that just got burned /
Wake up, mate (hey), who's laughing now?)

Rooster Teeth posted an update on Twitter reading: Many of the RT members have now also posted statements on the situation, too many to list here. You can find a lot of them in /r/RoosterTeeth.

Our Code of Conduct is meant for everyone in our community to follow and that includes our staff and anyone who works or partners with Rooster Teeth. We have parted ways with two employees whose conduct did not reflect the values we strive to uphold in our Code of Conduct.

We are adjusting our programming accordingly to move forward and we thank everyone for their support and patience during this challenging time.

In the past week a lot of allegations against Ryan Haywood have come out. Relations with fans, often young, some bordering underage, along with accusations of him taking the condom off during sex without asking. Very shocking news as Ryan always came across as the private family man of the group who kept him home life separate from his work, unlike many RT workers.

What's the out of the loop explanation on Rooster Teeth and these guys roll in it? Literally never heard about them until this stuff started to surface.

Rooster Teeth is a media group which started as a machnima production house that created Red vs Blue, which got hugely popular. They accreted employees and did various video gaming content, including the very popular Let's Play series, with a group including Ryan Haywood. More recently, they grew enough to purchase or hire the entire talent of several smaller internet-first gaming and general entertainment crews, including Funhaus, of which Adam was a part.

Overall they are very much "gamer humor" focused, very homogenous in gender and racial makeup, and have had a number of minor scandals regarding how various employees, mostly the few employees who belong to racial minorities, were treated by the "original crew" (and how they were treated by the even-more-original group, etc). This is by far the worst.

Thanks for that, makes this a fair bit clearer.
