[SOLVED] How can I mark a comment as read if I dont want to interact with it?
In the notification setting, I have untoggled both options but then I am wondering how can I mark a comment as read if I dont actually want to vote, label, reply or anything?
I am used to the reddit interface where iirc, you can just hit a button for toggle that state on a comment.
In case it also useful, there is a setting in user settings, under the notification settings section, to mark things as read once you have seen them: "Automatically mark all notifications read when you view the Unread Notifications page".
Do you have this option? https://ieh.im/s/firefox_fWqyWi3Lfv.png
that's an interesting UI choice on Deimos end, rather than just adding it to the right of the rest of the comment options [like after
Reply
], he chose to instead put it outside of what I would consider the scope of the comment so I didn't notice it.maybe he did some UI research and for some reason, that placement made more sense
Because it's in the scope of the notification, not in the scope of the comment
im just saying I don't think most people would look outside the comment for a way to mark a comment as read
fwiw, in things like email clients the option is also separated from things like 'reply' or 'forward'.
i mean, I wouldn't style a forum website like an email client if I was making one, I'd choose to style it more after a very well known forum website.
I always thought it was a nudge to "vote if you found it helpful", since voting also clears the notification and is less friction.
btw, is there a way to remark a comment as unread?
No, but you can bookmark a comment.
