Suggestion: Change the subscribe button to make it more clear whether a user is subscribed
The subscribe button is very attractive, but it's a little hard to tell the difference between "Subscribe" and "Subscribed"
Options:
- Use more dissimilar colors
- Change text for subscribed users to say "Unsubscribe" like another site does. Alternatively, change text for unsubbed users to say "Not subscribed".
Yeah, the blue/purple difference doesn't work very well, voting buttons for topics have the same issue. Changing the text would probably help a bit, but I think something more significant is definitely needed as well.
Actually I've messed with it a little and I noticed that when unsubscribing, you show the same color of purple all the way through, and white text. But when subscribing, you show a gentler shade of blue than the border shows.
I think the colors would be more clear if you just filled out the blue all the way and used white text. Between that and changing the text I think you would nail it.
