Thanks as always, Bauke. Not a very exciting one this month, between me being away for a lot of the month and spending a decent chunk of the rest of the time doing background-ish things, but hopefully everything should start picking up again in the new year.

Thank you to @clerical_terrors, @Cocoa, @deing and @ducks for providing additional invite codes. :) Happy New Year everyone!

(paging @cfabbro to post it on Reddit too, since I doubt people on Tildes actually need another account :P)

Hey, sorry I haven't been around much the last week so missed this. It looks like evilnight took care of posting it to /r/tildes yesterday though.

Question: previously, when I saved Tildes to my Android home screen as a shortcut, it would open as it's own app, possibly a progressive web app? Not sure of the terminology or how to describe it.

Anyway, for some reason or another, it got removed from my homescreen, I re added it, but now it opens as a tab in Chrome. I'm being a stickler, but I really preferred it to be it's own "app", so to speak. I tried the same with a completely random site (thenextweb.com) and it opens as it's own app like I wanted.

Is this baked into the site's code, or is this a client-end problem?

    Thanks!

I believe that was changed a while ago but there have been topics on it. I think this is one of them that explains how you can get that app-like behaviour.

Ahh, gotcha, found more info here. Looks like it was previously set up for a PWA, but people were having issues. Thanks!
