Imo it depends on context. If the most important bit of information is the uploader, you should probably still include that. Particularly for channels that brand themselves more as a show or a place for a main series, the individual name of a video might not matter much, and it's worth duplicating the channel name to highlight what actually makes the link interesting.

But I'd say most videos that get posted here don't fall under that category, and the uploader is secondary. For your linked example, I would rather the uploader not be there.

Of course not. There's no need to duplicate that information. Now that it's included in the domain, it doesn't also need to be in the title.

What I'm not liking is seeing "Youtube: channel name" taking up half the domain box. How about we move the site icons down there in these cases, rather than putting them on the left side of the posts? Just the channel name, with a little youtube icon... and yes, we can definitely stand to lose it in the titles.

I've been kinda stuck for a while on how to make graphics a part of Tildes without shitting the place up. I adore the text-based look and feel, and the speed is probably in the top 0.01% of websites. Rare small icons that just pop in to the text seem like a good fit to me, rather than large images or splattering the place up with dozens of distracting graphics. The graphics are a powerful tool to draw people's direct gaze, that's what they 'do' on a text based forum. Make them common and they lose that power. Make them scarce, put the graphics where you want people to look, and you can subtly direct attention, which is a handy superpower if you're trying to trick people into listening to the better angels of their nature. Drawing the gaze to the domain/channel/author seems like a good thing to me, it's arguably the most important bit of information after the title itself.

I also kinda like the idea of de-emphasizing the graphics. They'll be smaller next to the domain name.

Edit: I was just thinking perhaps we could put the graphics to the left of the titles to a more functional use. Someday we're going to have multiple 'types' of posts here that all have their own little quirks. Megathreads, AMAs, etc. We're also looking at seeing some kind of 'exemplary' system for submissions themselves someday, likely driven by posts leveling up from subgroups into parent groups. Seems like that's the sort of information that might be best seen right next to the title - the Tildes-specific stuff, whatever form it eventually takes.
