    1. What's the best way to make non-English posts on Tildes? Can you? Should you?

I'm guessing that it might just be that Tildes is an English only site, but as an avid language learner, I'd love to have a place to see and post non-English discussions. Is there a best practice...

Is there a best practice for making a non-English discussion? Is it simply not allowed? Is it allowed but discouraged?

    2. Accentuation on tags? ("á", "ã", "é", "í", etc)

I was trying to add andré bazin as a tag on an article about the film theorist André Bazin, but the box became red and prevented me from submiting. So I had to use the incorrect andre bazin. I...

I suppose there's a very rational technical reason for not using accentuation on tags -- even so, I believe it would be useful to suport those characters, since many languages use them.

    3. Tag plurality

'videos' tag is plural even though long read is not (vs "long reads"). I keep typing 'video' into the tag list because of that. IMO it makes more sense as a singular noun, as tags generally...

IMO it makes more sense as a singular noun, as tags generally describe the submission, not the plurality of submissions in the group. Though I feel this is not a new discussion. It also seems to be the case in other examples I can find eg. ask.survey (vs ask.surveys)

In ~comp, there's a post about optimizing a string parser, and one of the tags is "optimisation" instead of "optimization". This makes me curious, what's the official policy for regional spelling differences in tags? Will people be encouraged to use exclusively American or British spellings, or will the search feature (when it arrives) automatically link results for both if you search for either?

      Hello, everyone!

Any updates regarding Tildes going open source? I saw it on the blog and still waiting.
In case Tildes goes Open Source would it be possible to run your own Tildes on VPS? Will there be guides for newbies?

I would like to create a small community in future with different language based on Tildes. It looks already awesome!

Are we going to see different languages in profile for Tildes? I am ready to contribute and help to translate Tildes into the Russian language.
