Maybe I'm the luddite here, but it just seems like an odd idea, but I guess people want it, so it'll be used.

I’ve watched non-chronological reruns of sitcoms like The Golden Girls or I Love Lucy because it was on, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to put it on.

When I was in college I would put on classic sitcoms while studying. So in a way yeah I guess it's been transformed into music. I would put on The Mary Tyler Moore Show while studying, good times.

If I watch something like a TV show it's usually going to be my first and only watch, unless I'm re-watching to, say, try to catch stuff I missed, or because it's been a really long time.

I really like the "random" function on Netflix. It actually uses my preferences for the suggestions. I'd like to have the option of making it truly random, and also random within criteria. For example: only sitcoms, only old shows, only old sitcoms, only episodes of a specific show, etc.

To me, it's a way to simulate the good part of watching network television back in the day, of randomly watching something I'd never watch otherwise. In that sense, this shouldn't trigger the Luddite in you.

Nowadays we can easily check three or four scores before deciding to watch something. That is really efficient, but there is joy in spontaneity.

It has in my location at least. It is called "play something". I think it works because Netflix has the biggest library. I'm not sure if I'll use this on HBO.

I've put MST3K on in the background while working on a project or doing a mindless chore.

Something else HBO Max added: Blurred genitalia in some shows (Like Dave, for example) that weren't there when it was still called HBO Nordic. Gotta love the puritanical wave coming from the US as services go universal.

Btw, in that Dave episode they censored the main character's junk as he was climbing into a pool of water. In the same episode they showed him using a kitchen knife to cut a piece of his friend's arm, and then proceeding to cook it on a skillet and serve it in a restaurant. In another episode Dave bites the tip of a man's penis off and spits it out with blood and gore. This was not altered in the transition to HBO Max.

I mean, I get what you’re saying, but I’ve never seen censored nudity in the U.S. on HBO Max, granted I haven’t watched Dave. HBO has even shown clips of actual porn before (How To With John Wilson).

What else could the change be rooted in? EDIT: In Europe we are pretty chill. You might see some dongs or pairs of breasts during commercials or in daytime programming.

Maybe they're only covering stuff on family-oriented shows? No one would care about a boob on The Sopranos, but that might be a problem on Modern Family.

Highly recommended, I'll say that much. Second season has Ben Sinclair in a bigger production role, and it shows. High Maintenance is also highly recommended, btw. Both on HBO.
