I started watching Doctor Who in early 2019. I had a lot of friends in high school that loved it but I never wanted to watch it because I wasn't like a nerd-type so I had an aversion to a lot of nerdy stuff. But I finally watched it while I was in college. And I really loved it. I love the RTD seasons and I love Tennant as the Doctor, and specifically the season where Tate was his companion. So I'm excited for their return. Donna's storyline broke my heart.

Overall I would say I preferred the Tim Burton fairy-tale style of Steven Moffat's tenure. The Capaldi era is my personal favorite. I did not enjoy the Chibnall era at all. I just thought it was poorly written and I only watched the first season of it. Hoping this is a return to form.

Second season is better, third season is great (Chibnall can't write episodic, and the last season is one complete story line), I wasn't a fan of Moffat as show runner (although Capaldi is my favorite), and I would rate it a hair better than a lot of Smith's tenure.

Edit: Happy 1 year (and a day) of being on Tildes!

Wow, it both feels like it just happened and like it was a long time ago that I first joined.
