A big question going around is who would be a good replacement? Two names that I'm seeing a lot (and agree with) are Jessica Williams and Samantha Bee. I think both of them would be amazing, but I personally hope it goes to Jessica Williams, and not just because it closes the loop on Hot Tub Time Machine 2.
I kind of don't want either of them, TBH. The Daily Show isn't as culturally big as it used to be so it seems like something of a step down for Samantha Bee and something that will put too many...

But then again, I honestly can't stand this kind of show anymore. News is just too full of negativity and no amount of jokes can make it less depressing for me at this point.

He did, but he wasn't booted. He now has one of the top podcasts in the US[1] and an HBO deal is not at all a demotion, specially coming from TBS.
Regardless of how one evaluates the deal, Conan is generally considered a breath of fresh in the late show territory, with decades of innovative hilarious segments and the more recent travel segments in several countries that were very well received and even became a standalone show.
Conan's ability to make a connection with basically anyone everywhere is unparalleled.

Yes, maybe? It wasn't news to anyone that Conan was tired of the format and wanted a break, his show on TBS had already changed into something a lot less formal, with shorter runtime and longer interviews. He said many times that the podcast format is the one he enjoys the most nowadays. I'm really curious about the new show on HBO, because given his multiple talents it can be pretty much anything and still succeed. I really am a fan, as you can see!
Oh damn. You can take back my previous comment because any vehicle for Michelle Wolf is going to be worth watching. I honestly don't understand why she still doesn't have her own show.

Michelle Wolf is a harsh critic of Republicans, Democrats, conservatives, liberals, progressives, traditionalists, and everything in between. No one feels safe around her, which to me is a big...

I agree. I think they should call it a successful run and move on to something different. The daily show had its place and time but it’s done now.
Except Conan, cause Conan is a gem.
I mean Conan ended his late-night show and has a deal with HBOMAX currently

I get it’s all good for Conan. But, if anything, that’s a bad sign for late-night talk shows.

Michelle Wolf.

She did have her own show and it did not do so well apparently.
I saw her show on Netflix, it was great.
