I wouldn't class Hacks as a comedy but a drama about a comedian, but if The Bear got to be classed as a comedy, then yeah, Hacks certainly is. Either way, its accolades are earned, Jean Smart was fantastic in it.

For some reason it feels like TV critics seem to occasionally be unable to tell the difference between comedy and drama. I remember people talking up This is Us as a comedy in spite of it not being even remotely funny and 100% of the runtime being really forced melodrama.
Widow's Bay was such a nice surprise for my partner and I. It's proper horror at points, but at the same time genuinely funny in a way I didn't expect. Kate O'Flynn is so good in it!

I almost expected the excellent final season of Industry to get a nomination or two, since it filled the high stakes corporate drama niche that I'd been missing after Succession ended. But looking on Wikipedia I see that they've never been acknowledged by the Emmys. Oh well!
I actually just finally read through the nominations. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms getting into Drama surprised me because I would have thought it would go Comedy, everything I’ve seen from it...
I actually just finally read through the nominations. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms getting into Drama surprised me because I would have thought it would go Comedy, everything I’ve seen from it has been funny. I saw the first episode and it leaned comedic.
Task getting a lot of nominations, including Ruffalo getting into Lead Actor - Drama, Writing, and Directing but missing on the Drama nom overall is weird. Emilia Jones also missed a nomination despite giving a great performance in it. Caliee Spaeny missing for Beef Season 2 is weird.
I didn’t expect Euphoria to get into drama (It only got nominated in the Drama category for its second season) it’s third season was not super well received. Zendaya getting into Lead Drama for it despite Sweeney’s character being the focal point is pretty funny though. Obviously, Zendaya is more of an industry darling.
There was a lot of hubbub being made about how Heated Rivalry didn’t get any nominations. I thought Connor Storrie might appear as a nominee for the show (he was instead nominated for his SNL episode). But, really, Heated Rivalry is trashy TV. And it doesn’t have the association of someone like Ryan Murphy for the industry to elevate it beyond that.
Heated Rivalry is a Canadian production and therefore not eligible for an Emmy. It is eligible for the Canadian Screen Awards (previously the Geminis) - and in fact it was nominated for 18 CSA and...

She's so good in that show. My friend and I refer to her character as "biblically accurate Annie from Community."
