Agreed. It could have fallen flat, since it was mostly confirming things many of us already suspected (Ghost Nation's members are awake or at least more awake than normal hosts and the elements of our world in their religion developed naturally and were not scripted) but it wrapped those revelations in a personal and touching story. It really worked for me.

I really enjoyed the episode more than usual. I watch HBO in a country that has a different national language to my native, so all the subtitles are in that language, so I had to pay a lot more attention to read them in time. Even though I may have missed out of some subtleties lost in translation, it forced to me pay a lot more attention.

As far of the episode goes, I really liked the use of time passage being more 'normal' to contrast other episodes. The jumps between past and present were really well defined and I think helped to bind a lot of the other park threads together. Side comments (like Ake being running without upgrades for decades) really helped lock down the wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff and make it more concrete.

I also really enjoyed the idea that our main characters were not really all that special and the same awakening is happening for so many hosts regardless. Like the inevitability of making such seemingly-sentient hosts that they eventually actually become sentient.
