It's not like people who want to watch the whole thing in one sitting can't do that. It's netflix, it's known for binge watching.

If so, did Quentin Tarantino have any input on this? For some reason, I have trouble believing he would be okay with this approach.

Opposite for me again; I very much doubt it would have happened without Tarantino's express approval... so, I am excited to see what he's changed/added to it from the theatrical release to make it work better as a miniseries.

Yeah, Tarantino more than just about any other director sees his movies as his children. He is notoriously demanding over where and how they are released. When the screenplay for this movie got leaked ahead of time, he almost scrapped the entire thing.

He would never have allowed this netflix release to happen without his approval.

I'm really glad they've released this version, I had the privilege of being able to see the full "roadshow" extended edition and really enjoyed the whole experience.

An important part of the presentation for that version was specifically having an intermission period halfway through, without that pause the film would've definitely felt overlong, but with the pause it just felt like a bigger story without being overwhelming.

It really needs the break -- especially at the pace everything unfolds. I wish more films were willing to take a beat halfway. It shows such a strong confidence in the film.

I'm excited to see how he decided to split this up.

I might watch this anyway, but, even as a longtime fan, I found the original a tad too long already.
