Probably the best and most comprehensive of that "WTF was S8?" videos made yet. Truly the work of a Hugo-award nominee, heh. But really, I haven't heard anyone else voice how Sansa's character was butchered like this before, everyone has always been so focused on Dany, Jon, Cersei, and Jaime. They really did manage to fail at writing female characters across the board.

It seems so abundantly clear that D&D so completely were out of their depth with writing an ending to this series that I'm not sure how they'll come back from this, reputationally.

The bit about how knowing the ending of a good story won't ruin the experience of going through it again versus how knowing about a terrible ending can make going through the entire work again an excercise in frustration reminded me so much of what happened with Mass Effect 3—exactly the same scenario. A huge epic work with an ending so monumentally disjointed and disconnected from the rest of the story that it drags down the entire thing.

Random side note about the video, which I loved and had been impatiently wait for. Near the end of the video there were some random black screens, like there was meant to be some graphic there and there wasn't, thought that was weird. Also at the very end after the patreon credits there is a jump to black but then it leads to a great riff on Monty Python and the Holy Grail forms of government which I want to make sure people saw, because well this is a long long video

Well, they're already signed exclusively for multiple years for Netflix, so they seem to be set for a while anyway.

Oh, I'm sure they'll be fine financially. I imagine any studio backing them is going to make sure they're on a leash creatively and not allow them to call the shots as much as HBO did. Then again,...

Then again, a lot about the movie and television industry seems to run contrary to common sense so who knows.
