If you don’t know the name Michael Hogan, you definitely know his face if you’re a genre fan. Most famously, he played Col. Saul Tigh in Battlestar Galactica, as well as showing up in 12 Monkeys (the series), The Man in the High Castle, Teen Wolf (the series), Fargo, and dozens upon dozens of roles.

He also played Doc Mitchell, in Fallout: New Vegas too. And my earliest memory of him is playing the dad in a really bizarre French Canadian movie called The Peanut Butter Solution from back in the 80s, which scared the absolute shit out of me as a kid. BTW, don't let that American release trailer for the movie on IMDB fool you; It's not a "zany", "happy go lucky" kind of movie like it would suggest. Even to this day, I genuinely still have the occasional nightmare that is clearly inspired by certain scenes from the movie that were seared into my brain as a child.

Thanks for sharing that. It was hilarious to hear their perspectives on the fever dream insanity of that movie, and I love it when American comedians make fun of us Canadians. No, seriously. Their jokes about us all throughout were great. :P

So I will absolutely be listening to more of these. Any other standout episodes you recommend I check out next?

Also, I didn't realize Jason Mantzoukas and Paul Scheer were on a podcast together. Both were great in The League, and Mantzoukas has been incredibly funny in every show/movie I have seen him in (e.g. Kroll show, Good Place, etc).

p.s. The fact that it was Jon Lajoie (also from The League) who recommended this movie to them is awesome, and makes total sense too since he is from Montreal, and about the same age as me, so was probably also scarred by seeing it as a child.

Ah, nice, another fellow Hoser on Tildes! Kinda weird to learn that being traumatized by The PB Solution is apparently a pretty common thing for us Canadians who grew up in the 80s though. Where is the "Heritage Minute" commercial for that? :P

And thanks for the recommendations. I am curious to hear what they have to say about both those movies too, so I will be sure to check those episodes out.
