(Or maybe I'm just bitter as a trekkie who refuses to pay for CBS All Access).

p.s. Controversial statement ahoy: Janeway is actually my favorite Captain! So despite absolutely hating Discovery and Picard, I will probably be checking this series out... even if only out of morbid curiosity, to see how they can manage to fuck up my beloved Star Trek once again.

I don't blame you, she and 7 of 9 were basically the only redeeming features of that series. :P Kate Mulgrew is also just a really incredible person. I really enjoyed her short pre-game interview...

Kate Mulgrew is also just a really incredible person. I really enjoyed her short pre-game interview on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me (click on the "Not My Job" segment if you don't want to hear the whole thing).

I did enjoy the 7of9/Janeway dynamic. It had parallels to the "what does it mean to be a human" conversations between Picard and Data.

Yeah, Janeway and 7o'9 basically stole the show. A few of the other cast had their moments to shine here and there but most were just incredibly annoying or bland all throughout (especially Tom Paris and Chakotay), which is why I overall prefer DS9 to Voyager in terms of the story and casting. TNG had the best balance of interesting story and good casting out of all of them though, IMO.

Also thanks, I don't actually know much about Kate Mulgrew herself, so will give that a listen.
(BTW your opening bracket is a { instead of [ which broke the link)

edit: That was great, thanks. And now I won't be able to get the image of Janeway sternly lecturing Kirk for being an arsehole out of my head. :P

I wouldn’t mind if they made a show that felt like Star Trek...
