I think there is something wrong when everyone is getting charged through the nose and no one is profiting, except the shareholders.

Habituallytired Link ParentFor someone like me, it's the cost of being disabled. When I'm in a flare or am injured due to my disability, I can't cook, I can barely get out of bed. It sucks that they're just getting more and...For someone like me, it's the cost of being disabled. When I'm in a flare or am injured due to my disability, I can't cook, I can barely get out of bed. It sucks that they're just getting more and more expensive without passing that cost on to the drivers and restaurants. The middle men companies (DD, Uber eats, Grubhub...) just jack the prices up and take all the profit while lowering the payouts to the people actually doing the work.
It's the same story I've heard with Lyft and Uber - when they started, they were paying out plenty to get people using the stuff, with reasonable prices for the consumer, but over time, as they become saturated with drivers, the price has gone up for the end user, with payouts going down for the drivers (and in this case, the restaurants too, if they're even informed they're on DD's site.....)

Habituallytired LinkI like the idea of this project, and it would be cool for someone like me who is learning sign language. I just think they didn't do much research into the area. There absolutely are really good...I like the idea of this project, and it would be cool for someone like me who is learning sign language. I just think they didn't do much research into the area. There absolutely are really good resources and apps to learn ASL (or other sign language languages). I'm currently using one and it's been great! I've been learning for two months now, and I had a very rudimentary sign conversation with a HoH person last week after learning on the app.
I would love to see this work one day, but with all languages, that would be so cool. As of now, it doesn't really work and the article is not well-researched.

The doctor who examined me recommended laying off the screens, but continuing to do gentle things like coloring, listening to music/audiobooks, doing word...I had a concussion a few years ago. The doctor who examined me recommended laying off the screens, but continuing to do gentle things like coloring, listening to music/audiobooks, doing word searches and taking a break and a nap if my head started to hurt again. She also recommended I take walks outside, and drink plenty of water, but take a break from the caffeine. Somewhat of an in-between of what the article recommends and the old school theory of total blackout.

If you're outside, get into the middle of the street if you can, far away from any buildings or electric lines.

It's rippled through the entire internet too. As an example, I post things on instagram and occasionally boost things to my audience when I notice my engagement is lower than normal. I recently boosted something and have almost 700 likes, and everything I've posted after that, even though I've had growth of over 100 follwers in the same time as those 700 likes (unrelated to the boost), only have 5-15 likes each.
I'm planning on experimenting once I'm back from vacation an asking if my followers see what I post without a boost, because I suspect I'm being buried.
When I follow their advice/challenges, I lose follwers. The only time I gain anything is when I spend money on instagram. It's the same thing as paid ads on Google. You want to be seen? You have to pay.

I agree with you that not everyone needs to go to college. Continuing education should be the norm for all people, even if it's a simple "updated tax/retirement math course" or something like that, but I agree that we're focusing on college being essential for the wrong reasons.

The way the class was taught, I basically gave up on learning math and ended up in "remedial" math classes, including...I was one of those students affected by this policy in middle school. The way the class was taught, I basically gave up on learning math and ended up in "remedial" math classes, including introductory statistics. I did so well in statistics, that I felt much more confident with math. I went back to other math classes in high school and early college and struggled again, including taking trigonimetry twice. But calculus clicked for me, just like statistics did.
The point I'm trying to make here is that algebra is really hard if it's not taught well, so we should be enforcing better teaching styles for this essential math course, and break it up instead of teaching the full textbook in one year (or something to that effect) for students that need it to be slower paced.

If a student doesn't understand something in high school, but retakes the course in...on the topic of some people learn differently: Teaching styles in college and high school tend to differ wildly. They also have a higher chance/ability to choose who teaches them so they can select the teacher and their teaching style, where in high school, that isn't the case usually.

Habituallytired Link Parentlol you're right. I should have been more clear, I think that there should be a way to use solar panels to help with regenerative driving. It may be because I already have a lively instagram account, but I've enjoyed using threads since I got on it after the initial surge. I waited a few months before joining so that it wasn't just a weird free for all.
I'm not mad that they're being punished, as a Californian, but I also can't help but think the only reason this is happening is because it's California. I want to see this happen in all 50 states, to be honest. I want this to lead to the closure of for-profit prisons, and to start taking steps to change the industry.
