No one is going to pay trainees a living wage if they don't have to. And what would happen is that they'd start just hiring trainees and finding a reason to fire them so they never had to pay higher wages. You don't think like a corporation at all.

And why the fuck would the guy across the street decide to pay trainees a living wage when other people aren't? There is absolutely no incentive to do that, especially if all that happens is you train them and they get poached by the company across the street.

Not that I want ads in my games, but the most inobtrusive way I can think of probably would not work for some games. But any games that would have ads as part of the game world, make those ads actually ads for real products (I believe for a long time this has already been a practice in racing games).

Of course it would suck for games that want to use the ads to illustrate the world the game is in more cause they are then beholden to ads for real products that will more be catering to our world then the world the ad is in.

One thing I do is I try to reread stuff and if I find that the sentence I put in parenthesis is too long I redo it a bit to remove the parenthesis. Hell... I'm amazed I didn't use parenthesis in this response (i've <- oh look, I did it and no I didn't do that on purpose, I just caught myself doing it and decided to point it out. And yes, I've done this before when I was talking about my problem with over using them lol). <- also, this is where I would normally edit it and remove the parenthesis but I'm leaving it in this time to make my ponit.

See, this is why when people would say Steam was ok DRM because they claimed they would remove the DRM if they had to be shut down didn't really make me think it was any better. I mean, I actually am not against DRM, i am against DRM that requires an online check in with a service where the company can easily remove your access for whatever reason they want (or even things that may be out of their control like in this case). Because first of all, you are just relying on their word. And it's a company, people change in a company, new people run it. New people who didn't make that promise. That's just number one reason why not to trust that. Number 2, if Steam really got shut down/went out of business, do people really think they are guaranteed to have the resources to make good on that promise (when they have all sorts of other things to worry about at that point)? Third, simply put, that's just people saying something. That's not an actual guarentee. Not unless it is in a contract some how that they legally have to make good on.

Instead of blaming the people who don't control what direction the company is going and laying them off first while CEOs at worse fail sideways and just get hired somewhere else. That is if they don't just give tehmselves a huge congratulations package for making it look profitable again by laying off all the low end employees.

Yeah, but come on, it's not like they can not be evil and also still get their company to thrive... my last part is answering my question but it's also a sarcastic comment on how much assholes they are that they'd rather be evil (god forbid they actually have to compete rather then spend a little money and be lazy <- that was my unwritten part to that last sentence). Also... it shows how much a lie capitalism is when it claims capitalism keeps people at their best (I am not against capitalism but it needs reigns and regulations cause pure capitalism does not work as intended). Because if capitalism really worked they would evolve cause they would have to to make their company survive. but really all they have to do is find ways of holding any competition back and all it takes is having enough money (or already more money than any upcoming challengers).

I would have been happy with ship travel if you could fly to the edge of the "cell" and then load into the next "cell" so that you could somewhat simulate flying between planets. Add in random encounters that can happen while you are doing that and it would have been great. I could have suspended my disbelief enough in that to simulate being able to fly around in my ship. Add in not forcing me to fast travel out of my ship if I've already been to a location (why didn't they make that an option you could turn off?) which at least there are mods to fix that.

Instead, the ship is a glorified fast travel point (kinda like how Outer Worlds did it but Outer Worlds was more honest about it not letting you actually fly it) and the only random encounters happen when you fast travel to a new cell. There is no point in flying anywhere or even just pretending to.

I mean I'm excited for being able to customize the interior of my ship but then what's the point when the ship is just a fast travel hub?

I don't think it's unfixable for what I'd like to see (as a good compromise between trying to make flying work in their engine as it can't handle all of space at once but letting me have more immersion in pretending I'm a space traveller). Add in random encounters in space that don't just happen when you fast travel in and add in fast travel happens if you reach the edge of the cell (and appoint pointers at the edges of what cell you fast travel to). Course I'm not a programmer but within what they've made I wouldn't think it would be too hard to just set at set parts of the boundary where to fast travel to if some one reaches it. The RNG encounter part I'm not as sure if it is as easy (I know in their regular games even random encounters still happen at set parts of the map but could they just map set parts in each cell in space for a random encounter to happen? Spread them out liberally so you have a good chance of running into one?).

Well the environment affects everyone motherfuckers). Honestly my impression of them at the time that made me go away was that they just didn't want any rules on them and fuck everyone else. I've always thought VR was the end game for games but I find I play it for a little then go back to my flat games (and I invested a decent chunk into VR partly cause I didn't have a gaming PC so I had to get that <- and I refuse to buy anything owned by facebook so that wasn't an option).

I still want to see VR do well... but looking at all the finance news for all the VR makers it looks like it (once again) is a failed experiment. At least for gaming. Even Occulus I think is still putting more money then making, playstation has had to stop making VR because they have too many on hand, and Steam isn't even doing much to support their VR at all (sucks to be me who is invested in PCVR. Honestly at this point I think the biggest hopes for VR is sady either facebook or Playstation and even though they are still trying it doesn't seem they have yet to see a benefit from it. I am just hoping Sony keeps trucking cause fuck FB).

I think for VR to take off it's not going to be gaming that does so. Either they find a good practical use (and there is some I know) or porn is going to have to take off on it (after all, porn is what originally got the internet to truly take off). personally though I don't care one bit about porn myself, I'm hoping it does take off for VR cause then people will start getting the sets for that, and hey, why not buy some games for it too while they already have it? Whether I care about porn or not, porn sells stuff and I bet it would really sell VR.

Sorry, you hit a pet peeve. Real names don't make people civil. They've even done studies to show so. What you are thinking of is having an identity you are attached to the reputation of which does not require you using your real name. But on the internet it is easier not to have that and feel you are anonymous (even using your real name). Smaller sites more like people would remember who is who which is what you probably more were seeing with a small site.

Ok, whether they were having fun with the wooden balls or they were just investigating them... they didn't have instincts to tell them do that with a wooden ball. Point is they were acting above what just coded instructions would tell them to do with it.

And really? You are skeptical of observations of conciousness in animals (like all animals?)? Then you must either never have had any pets or just never paid any attention to them. I can't even fathom some one having a pet who actually paid attention to it not thinking they have their own little thoughts (even undecipherable to us as they are especially as they don't have words to put to those thoughts, just feelings). My cats all have different preferences (like one loves this little squirrel toy that I've never seen my other cats care about but he throws it about so that he can go chase it. I've had that toy since before this cat and he's the only one who has taken a shine to it. He and one other cat I've had were more excited if they heard you take a toy out then if you took out a treat. And I've had cats who don't find playing all that exciting). Two think that new humans are scary, one has no problem at all with new humans and thinks they are just there to give him more treats.

Also, there are videos of stuff like crows finding pieces of metal, flying up to a roof, and sledding down the roof on them (in a snowy area). As well as many studies showing htat crows can learn to remember our faces and even teach faces of humans they don't like to their young before the young even see the person.

It doesn't feel like a minority if you are a woman trying to argue to have more women representation and better (not just models for men to fap to) in games. I have stopped talking games in most gaming forums other than a specific few that lean very liberal because otherwise I get spammed with crap like what this guy is talking about. Even when I'm not trying to discuss the problem it comes out in small ways and is annoying to read. Misogyny is a real problem in the gamer community, a lot more than just a few. Gamergate is a big example of it. Hell, GTA V had a huge uproar cause some woman reviewer said the game was good and people should play it but dared to criticize that it didn't do women representation well. There was a huge uproar in trying to get her fired cause she said one criticism about the game (she even overall called it a good game).

Hell, this video dances around calling out what the real issue these gamers complaining are having, the women aren't their fantasy women they can fap to. He all but says it but it is like he refuses to outright say it (but if you look at all his examples of who people don't care about they are all men.. and even he starts focusing on the fact they are complaining about women but won't call that fact straight out).

In situations where you need to get out, you don't always have time to do that. Yeah Kroger is trying to corner the market where I am. As is we have one alternative and right now they are trying to buy out/merge with them and arguing that this is some how for us customers and it will offer cheaper and more options and they have to do this to keep up with the competition (which tehre will be none once they merge.. they're arguing amazon and walmart are their competition.
