    My first gut reaction to this before reading the article was "Is this a bad thing". But it should at least be obvious enough when registering that you don't get people accidentally registering...

But it should at least be obvious enough when registering that you don't get people accidentally registering when they think they are endorsing someone or doing something else. Maybe on the final screen in big red letters - Are you sure you want to run for president?
