I'm not sure this counts compared to what others have posted, but here it goes.

I sincerely believe that humanity is almost literally shooting itself in the foot by embracing shoes and shaming/shunning barefootedness, and that we should be doing anything else possible to avoid putting a barrier between our feet and the ground. If you're even a little acclimated to going barefoot, the circumstances in which you actually need protection are way smaller than one might think (a steel mill, sure, a restaurant, not so much), and there are alternative solutions to problems we're currently solving with shoes.

Tracking in dirt? Sanitary wipes, or running water.

Glass? Watch where you're going, and carry a pair of tweezers in the event of something miniscule getting stuck.

Syringes? Get serious on a larger scale about putting a stop to this behavior.

Hookworm? Tell people to stop taking dumps on the ground, it's species specific.

Plantar warts? 1) don't keep your feet in moist, dark environments, and 2) we have vaccines for HPV, and plantar warts are both related and have far fewer simplexes, so a vaccine should be quite easy to create if we collectively cared to.

Expectations/"disrespectful"? Utterly irrelevant, I argue from a place of function (have you seen the difference in shape between a natural human foot and a shoe? Don't tell me there aren't physiological consequences), these are comparatively arbitrary.

If we want to solve foot and back problems, as we ought, then the solution is to subtract, no matter how much some may dislike it. In fact, if they dig in their heels about not allowing it in their establishment, they ought to be shamed instead. We don't go out wearing gimp suits just in case we get struck by lightning, and we don't need shoes until we really, truly need them... And for reference, with some training, people can go barefoot in snow and be just fine.

I still check Greentext and 4Chan, EpicSeven, TheSilphRoad and TheSilphArena, PoliticalCompassMemes, and occasionally some others. The main thing I've noticed is the engagement dropoff on NoSleep and WritingPrompts, and that leaves me disheartened as they used to be where I'd go for a daily dose of fiction. I think there's been a similar decline in the others I mentioned (minus EpicSeven, that one's always been kinda small), but it's especially palpable on the writing subreddits.

I picked Shattered Pixel Dungeon up again, and just polished off earning Silver Champion with Hostile Champions, Badder Bosses, and Swarm Intelligence active. I'd previously completed a Rogue run with Barren Land active, that wasn't too bad. This run was a test of my skills though, and were it not for the frankly ridiculous combination of a Glyph of Camouflage and the Huntress's Rejuvenating Steps skill granting almost on-demand stealth, I don't think I would have made it to the end.

I got serious about Epic Seven again, and finished the Real Time Arena (RTA, where you and your opponent draft units back and forth and then face each other in real time) season at a tier high enough to earn a skin for a character for the first time. It was kind of scary at first, as I was learning essentially how to draft, but I knew that one could hit Master (the tier necessary to earn the skin, and there are four more tiers above it) with a 33% win rate... But I hit a pretty good stride, and made it up to a 53% win rate. I think that if (for some reason) you're looking for a gacha to play, you need look no further. The company seems to genuinely care about player satisfaction, and the writing is at least most of the time more than good enough.

Y'know, somehow, I suspected the article was referring to Eunuch Maker. That didn't surprise me terribly, though I'd been operating under the assumption (since I'm a sane person who didn't want to look into this too much) everything was somehow legal.

Ms Carberry said that police officers found Gustavson's penis "in a drawer in his home four years after it had been amputated".

This did though. At least he practiced what he preached, I guess?

Dan and Mab's Furry Adventures, or DMFA, is one I'm still following. Don't worry about the name, it's safe for work, and while the premise has drifted it was originally about Furcadia and the author's friends. The early stuff is really amateurish in quality, but at some point it undergoes a dramatic evolution.

There's also Goblins, if you can tolerate that one's shortcomings.

If you haven't read them yet, I can also recommend 8 Bit Theater, as well as Bob and George, the two comics that started the sprite comic trend of the 2000's. They've both ended, but they're hilarious, and I'd even say worth a reread if it's been a long time since someone last read them.

I think it ought to have a short-answer question worded something like "is there any way in which you are a statistical outlier?", which could be searched for keywords by either the software or manual operator, then used to influence match results. It'd be neat if people could meet over "weird" stuff they have in common, like going barefoot everywhere.

Something open ended like that could, I think, work better than old OKC's endless questions (though I did appreciate the math and sequencing ones it offered).

Across the Obelisk is hardly a guarantee. It's much more aggressive about meta progression than StS, being able to max out one character's skill tree (of which your party will have four out of... sixteen?) Will take many hours. It also has extremely basic sound design, enough to grate (though if it's on mute during a meeting, I guess that won't be an issue).

Not saying it's bad, mind you. But it's enough of a different beast for it to not be every StS player's cup of tea.

I'd wager Vault of the Void is a safer bet for enjoyment, it felt more like StS to me.

There was a scene in the final arc where George is in the future, and he says "Oh God, I remember everything! Even the fourth Matrix movie!" That strip was made in '07 at the latest, so I find it strangely prescient.

I've buried my nose in Rune Factory 4 (Special). I've never played a Harvest Moon style game before, but this one is half Harvest Moon, half JRPG, so that helps. It's mostly chill (apart from the odd typhoon or snowstorm!), but the bosses can provide some challenge. There are six bachelors and six bachelorettes to pursue; while you can only pursue the opposite sex, the one you marry does give you a biological child after a time skip, so I'd say it's justified. I'm stuck between Clorica, the narcoleptic and sleepwalking yet highly competent (even while sleeping) butler, Margaret, the big-sisterly elven musician, and Dolce, the stoic medium with gothic aristocrat vibes. The other bachelorettes are Forte, the ladyknight, Xiao Pai, the mature and intelligent yet clumsy and accented bath house employee (whose mother is the owner), and Amber, the... loli (seriously, she's so childlike in appearance and demeanor that it's genuinely disconcerting that someone would pursue her).

I think the V3 characters bring the greatest value, not in the main game, but in the alternate game mode "Talent Development Plan", as well as its quasi-sequel Dangan S, where they're interacting with characters from other games (for example, a memorable interaction between Tenko and Mahiru). That said, the trial mechanics in this one were pretty neat, and the fifth case was a particularly interesting one.

I'd like to mention a couple of mods for StS: Downfall, which lets you play as a bunch of villainous characters (most of which are bosses) and even one new hero, and In Spire Together Together In Spire, something of a successor to Spire with Friends... Which adds multiplayer! These two work together, allowing (with a setting tweak or two) for such shenanigans as The Champ joining The Ironclad, The Silent being backed up by The Gremlin Gang, or The Guardian defecting with The Defect. Each of the added characters have cool new mechanics (though some are easier to grasp than others); I'm partial to The Guardian in particular (who can add a new type of card called "Gems" to his main cards to enhance their effects).
