I'm more A/V than instrumental, so maybe I'm missing something obvious, but wouldn't a simple 3.5mm y adapter work for combining the signals from the guitar and whatever you're pulling your backing track from? Obviously you would be trading form factor for mixer functionality, but that may not be a big deal if you've got appropriate control on either end? It would be less cumbersome than a mixer. But there's also small, passive aux mixers too that I think would work here.
