I seriously hope this is the end of it. Apparently, the suspect's car was covered in political symbols, but that was just details from a notification I received.

Here is the suspects van. There are some other pics floating around the comments of the /r/news thread.

Not to mention potential copycats, especially with the attention the guy is getting. I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that there's a significant amount of crazies who are willing to be martyrs for the cult that has become Trump's rabid fanbase.

The call terrorism is coming from inside the house country.

Tons of images with politicians behind crosshairs. The fact this wasn't reported to the FBI sooner shows how scary what we consider normal is.

I'm embarrassed to say that this unfortunate, likely mentally-ill joker was arrested close to home in South Florida.

If you look at the biographical information, he's Filipino-Italian American, and thus provisionally "white" for the couple of generations since World War II.

Race is a fraught topic in that diverse state, and it still astonishes me that I've met bilingual Spanish-speaking people of Hispanic (Cuban, Venezuelan, Columbian, etc.) origin who are rabidly anti-Black racist and anti-immigrant. I know Black people from Caribbean islands who speak of American and Haitian slave-descended Black people with contempt. I know Jews who speak of "them" in hushed tones of terror every time a brown person is around. I can't even count the number of vile epithets I've heard about everyone else from white people of various ethnic origins, including people of ethnicities subjected to prejudice in the U.S. a century ago - Italian, Hungarian, Irish, German... I know gay people who are so racist and sexist I can't even speak with them any more. And they all despise trans people.

There's a Tildes thread elsewhere about what people like or dislike about social media; my hypothesis is that all of these people found online filter bubbles where it was acceptable to say the soft parts about their fear of others out loud, and get validated for this activity to the point that the fear and clustering in increasingly fractionated identities became self-reinforcing.

Certainly, Cesar Sayoc found enough external validation of his paranoid power fantasies to act out.

I am legitimately surprised he doesn't seem outwardly involved with the Q stuff, if you've peeked at their subreddits you'd recognize that they're legitimately dangerous.

Other than that, they congregate on voat on /v/theawakening nad /v/greatawakening (or something like that). They're also supposedly on 8chan, but I can't seem to find 'em at the moment.

Yeah, I only hop in /r/the_donald every now and then and see what they are up to. That alone is usually enough for me.

They've moved to Voat and 8chan now, after their subs were banned.

I have no idea, /r/greatawakening was the last one I knew about but it was banned. You can just google screenshots though, or try waybackmachine.

My local newspaper says that his car was 'covered in images of Trump, messages that included "CNN sucks" and "Native Americans for Trump"'. The odds that he's white just went down. Sorry.

I didn't take it as criticism, but someone who sees the post in a few hours might wonder why there isn't any substance to the article.

Is there a rule on creating titles? Do we need to use the original one in all cases? Cause, in this case, it would be beneficial if the title mentioned the location of the event.
