I think you're in for a treat on S13. Judi Love and Sophie Duker were both hilarious, IMO. And as a huge Father Ted fan, I adore Ardal O'Hanlon. Chris Ramsey was kind of forgettable though. And...

And Bridget Christie was a bit annoying at times, but in a way that was thankfully still pretty damn funny. :)

But the reason I said that is because I literally can't remember much of what Chris Ramsey actually did that season. :P It's not necessarily a mark against him. I just think he didn't really stand out all that much to me, especially with such powerful personalities as his competition that series.
LOL yeah... I mean, his results oscillated between either brilliantly mad, or impressively incompetent. So I think my assessment was fair. :P He is by far my favorite contestant so far though. I...

How long before we can get ~tv.taskmaster, do you think? :)
One day, hopefully!
And oh, damn. I didn't realize you were a mod there! I just checked it again recently, and noticed there are no longer pinned comments with steaming/download links in them. Is that something that Reddit forced the subreddit mods to stop doing?
p.s. The Last Leg is great too! One of the few talk shows I still watch even though I'm not in the UK anymore (back in Canada), along with Graham Norton.
Oh. That's actually way worse than if the admins had forced the mods to stop. At least that I could have understood. That's incredibly saddening to hear. :( And yeah, I don't blame you for being...

Yeah... I only half-believe that. Im sure they had some audience in a studio, but it doesn't mean the laughter & applause wasn't canned, or recorded separately from that audience but played back...

I can't cite you anything but there's a lot of tells that this was being done.

I thought Mae was hilarious too and a worthy winner.

I really need to catch up - my wife and I stopped watching during COVID (seeing them all spaced out in the studio was a real bummer)...This is so exciting!

I've enjoyed all the series casts overall, the show has a knack for showing a side of British celebrities that we don't see on panel shows and it's a lot of fun. I'm amazed it's 16 series in and the quality still feels as high. Greg and Alex are as funny as ever, and the tasks have remained remarkably steady despite changing every single season, there hasn't been an introduction of something gimmicky or it going too far (for example, current GBBO has been criticized for having much more elaborate and overly complicated bakes than the earlier series). I'm impressed the format hasn't changed or adjusted in all this time too, it really feels like they could start rotating in older tasks or contestants at some point and it would still be a true contest.
In terms of the best series group, I think that we got the best cast (so far) very early in the show's run with Series 4: Hugh Dennis, Joe Lycett, Lolly Adefope, Mel Giedroyc and Noel Fielding. Absolute mayhem and chaos, and nonstop hilarity with that crew. Nobody really felt left behind and there were so many dark horse wins, or sideways solutions. Other seasons have hit the same highs but I think Series 4 was the most consistently high.

Yeah, Taskmaster's ability to stay fresh and fun to watch is really impressive. Most similar contest type shows eventually fall into a creative rut, and it feels like everyone involved is just spinning their wheels to keep it going for a paycheck. But Greg and Alex still seem to be genuinely enjoying themselves, even after 15 Series.
Super excited to see Sue Perkins (another long-time panel show veteran) on the show!
Any other Taskmaster fans here?
I binged the first 5 or 6 seasons during lockdown, some of the guest lineups weren't a huge draw for me but the format stayed interesting!

LOL, yeah that's fair. Total incompetence and utter madness (Rhod Gilbert) are far more memorable than competence on this show. :P

Sue Perkins and Julian Clary together are going to be brilliant. They work very well on Just a Minute. Clary is very funny.
I'm two seasons behind but you're reminding me to catch up. The covid taskmaster series left an awful taste in my mouth.
Why is that? And there is more than one Covid-affected series....
Fake audience.
It wasn't a fake audience. They just had the audience in another studio, and filmed them separately. IIRC they even specifically mentioned that being the case the first episode of the season when the restrictions went into effect.

It was just incredibly eery and jarring.

Anyway it was a good lineup. I particlarly enjoyed Jenny Eclair, which I wasn't expecting to.
Thanks for that! Still finding my way round here!
Wow, what a great cast. The only one I don't really know is Sam Campbell, but he seems pretty funny. Definitely looking forward to this one!

Series 7 -- James Acaster, Jessica Knappett, Kerry Godliman, Phil Wang, Rhod Gilbert -- was the true chaos season.

I just want to say that it's an honor and a thrill to have my first Tildes comment be about Taskmaster.
Yes! Sam Campbell is an awesome Australian comedian, happy he got on the show, love seeing the Ozzies getting invovled.
Somehow I don't think I know/recognize any of these contestants. Usually that means I'm in for a great season though!
